Alaska COVID-19 Case Count Summary: July 2, 2020

CASE COUNT SUMMARY, Thursday, July 2, 2020

DHSS today announced 50 new cases of COVID-19 in Alaska; 39 residents in 13 communities: Anchorage (13), Wasilla (9), Palmer (4), Seward (3), Tok (2), and one each in Big Lake, Chugiak, Kenai Peninsula North, Eagle River, Fairbanks, Kodiak, North Pole and Sitka. This brings the total number of Alaska cases to 1,017.

Eleven new nonresident cases were also identified in:

• Aleutians West Census Area: 1 in seafood industry
• Municipality of Anchorage: 1 unknown industry
• Bristol Bay and Lake & Peninsula boroughs combined: 1 seafood industry
• Dillingham Census Area: 2 seafood industry
• Haines Borough: 1 other industry
• Kenai Peninsula Borough: 3 unknown industry
• Kodiak Island Borough: 1 unknown industry
• Petersburg Borough: 1 unknown industry

This brings the total number of nonresident cases to 209.

Of the 39 Alaska cases, 24 are male and 15 are female. One is under the age of 10; five are aged 10-19; nine are aged 20-29; seven are aged 30-39; seven are aged 40-49; four are aged 50-59; four are aged 60-69 and two are 80 or older.

Recovered cases now total 535, with seven new recovered cases recorded yesterday. A total of 115,909 tests have been conducted. The average percentage of daily positive tests for the previous three days is 1.34%.
