Early Childhood Physical Activity, Nutrition and Obesity Facts (2019)

We know that daily surroundings and the options families have will influence their children’s health. Children born in Baby-Friendly designated hospitals are more likely to start off with the best nutrition possible: breastmilk. Families who enroll their children in a child care center that is committed to best practices can improve what their children eat and drink each day. Families can further improve their children’s nutrition by choosing healthy foods and drinks to serve at home.

Our new report called “Early Childhood Physical Activity, Nutrition and Obesity Facts” presents facts about physical activity, nutrition and health for Alaska’s youngest children. Please join us in using this report to make informed decisions, select evidence-based solutions, strengthen commitment to those solutions, and be inspired to take action. We want to make a positive difference in the lives of Alaska’s children and their families, and we hope you will join us.
