Section 1115 Waiver Update e-Memo - Continuum of Care/1115 Waiver Taskforce

Continuum of Care/1115 Waiver Taskforce

In partnership with the Alaska Division of Behavioral Health, the Alaska Mental Health Board and Advisory Board on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse are seeking dedicated volunteers to participate in a Continuum of Care/1115 Waiver Taskforce.

This taskforce will provide advice and expertise to the Division to support the successful implementation of Alaska’s Section 1115 Behavioral Health and Substance Use Disorder Waiver in order to advance:

  • Behavioral health outcomes and an improved continuum of care;
  • Community and consumer engagement; and
  • Behavioral health and SUD service expansion.

The Taskforce will meet at least once a month beginning in April 2019 until October 2019. Meetings will be held via webinar. Agendas will focus on issues related to supporting the overall continuum of care and the implementation of the 1115 waiver, and may include reports by and from specialists within the Division or its consultants.  All meeting minutes and reports will be shared publically on the Divisions website.

To volunteer for this taskforce, please send your contact information to bev.schoonover@alaska.gov by March 20th.

Taskforce members will be chosen based on geographical representation, provider type, and other criteria. For purposes of effective discussion, this taskforce will have no more than 20 participants. The taskforce will convene via webinar the week of April 1st.

Please contact Bev Schoonover at 907-465-5114 if you need additional information.
