Alaska Department of Education and Early Development Announces Participation of Child and Adult Care Food Program Agencies
JUNEAU, AK -- The Alaska Department of Education & Early Development (DEED) administers the federally funded Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) in Alaska, which provides meals at no cost to enrolled children. A list of current CACFP Organizations is on the Alaska CACFP website.
CACFP is open to non-profit, for-profit, and governmental agencies operating childcare centers, adult day care centers, Head Start programs, emergency shelters, at-risk afterschool programs, outside school hour care centers, and family day care homes.
Agencies, programs, and child care providers that are interested in participating in the CACFP may send inquiries to eed.cnp.cacfp@alaska.gov.
Participating agencies are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, age, marital status, family/parental status, income derived from a public assistance program, political beliefs, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity, in any program or activity conducted or funded by USDA.
