Fare Change Proposal: Community Meetings Scheduled & Comments Invited
Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District (AC Transit) sent this bulletin at 09/30/2013 11:17 AM PDTIn April, the AC Transit Board of Directors voted not to raise fares this year, as originally scheduled. Instead, Board and staff decided to explore a new fare structure and pricing with potential benefits for riders and service reliability. A proposal is now ready for public review and comment, and includes these elements:
- Introducing a local Day Pass & eliminating transfers
- Adjusting local pass prices
- Offering discounts on local Clipper fares
We encourage you to read the full description of the proposal or pick up a brochure on your bus. You'll see there are many ways to provide feedback and we want to hear from you!
A series of six community meetings on the proposal will be held between October 8 and 16, and the Board will hold a public hearing on October 23 (see details below). Any changes adopted would likely go into effect in July 2014.
