Bay Bridge Closed Presidents' Day Weekend – Detours on Lines F, LC, NL, O, and 800

AC Transit e-News

As a reminder, the upper, westbound deck of the Bay Bridge leading into San Francisco will be closed over Presidents' Day weekend from 8 p.m., Friday evening, February 17, through 5 a.m., Tuesday morning, February 21, and lines F, LC, NL, O, and 800 will be detoured.

  • The last San Francisco-bound trips across the bridge on Friday evening will be Line F from Berkeley and Line O from Fruitvale BART, both leaving at 7 p.m., and Line NL from Eastmont Transit Center leaving at 7:05 p.m.
  • The last eastbound trips across the bridge will be lines LC, P, and W at 8 p.m.; lines NL and O at 8:05 p.m.; Line F at 8:10 p.m.; and Line NXC at 8:30 p.m.

Friday night only, passengers who normally take Line LC from San Francisco at 9 p.m. should take BART to the North Berkeley BART station. A Line LC bus will meet passengers there and depart at 9:25 p.m.

During the closure, after their last trips across the Bay Bridge, lines F, NL, and O will continue to serve most stops in the East Bay by operating detour routes to and from the West Oakland BART station. All lines will leave West Oakland BART station on their eastbound trips 15 minutes after their scheduled departure times from the San Francisco Transbay Temporary Terminal.

Line NL will not service the westbound stop on W. Grand Ave. at Wake Ave. The eastbound Line NL stop on W. Grand Ave. at Mandela Pkwy. will be temporarily relocated east across Mandela Pkwy. All other stops for lines F, NL, and O will be serviced during the detour.

All Nighter Line 800 will serve all of its regular East Bay stops to and from the 12th St. BART station in downtown Oakland where passengers can connect to BART. BART will run special all-night service during this closure, except between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. Tuesday morning, February 21. Between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. Tuesday morning, there will be no transit service to and from San Francisco. Plan ahead and make special arrangements.

Be advised that weather conditions could delay the Tuesday morning reopening. If the reopening is delayed, the bridge closure will extend into the regular weekday commute, and all AC Transit buses that cross the Bay Bridge will be impacted. We encourage you to stay tuned for updates about this closure.
