BRT Construction Sites through May 15, 2020

AC Transit is committed to providing the most accurate information for anyone seeking information along the 9.5-mile BRT corridor. Currently, construction crews are hard at work building BRT stations, installing new wheelchair accessible curb ramps, modern traffic signals, LED street lighting and more innovative improvements in the following neighborhoods.

A&U1

Applying the finishing touches! Electrical crews mount speakers for the public address system at the southbound Uptown Station on Broadway at 20th Street in downtown Oakland. Speakers are just one of the amenities– along with benches, bike racks, ticket vending machines, Clipper card readers, map cases, trash cans, and message and way finding signs– being installed at each station. Additional tradespeople are finishing up marking and striping newly paved streets, finalizing signal work, planting trees, and building the last few wheelchair accessible curb ramps. Enhanced art windscreens and handrails will follow. The BRT is on track to hit substantial completion in mid-May!
