BRT Construction Sites through December 11th, 2019

AC Transit is committed to providing the most accurate information for anyone seeking information along the 9.5-mile BRT corridor. Currently, construction crews are hard at work building BRT stations, installing new wheelchair accessible curb ramps, modern traffic signals, LED street lighting and more innovative improvements in the following neighborhoods.


A&U1

Crews wrap up a productive week as they pour the bus pad at the San Leandro Transit Center. After it dries, AC Transit buses currently stopping at the transit center’s island will resume passenger loading and unloading near the BART entrance. Work will then begin on building BRT station platforms! (11/22/19)

A new BRT bus glides past Fruitvale Village on the newly-paved International Blvd. Bus testing and operator training continues along the corridor so keep an eye out, Oakland and San Leandro! (11/21/19)

Crews finish pouring concrete for the southbound Madison Street Station. When complete, the station will serve Oakland's Chinatown neighborhood delivering students, teachers and staff to nearby schools like the American Indian Model School, seniors to Family Bridges, and Alameda County employees to nearby County facilities. (11/19/19)

BRT is a $216 million investment in the community. BRT bus service mirrors the frequency, reliability and safety of light-rail train service without the high cost of building a rail line. BRT will operate along a 9.5-mile corridor between downtown Oakland and the San Leandro BART Station, primarily along International Boulevard and East 14th Street.
