Bus Rapid Transit

AC Transit is committed to a construction schedule that is timely, efficient and provides the most accurate information for those doing business or who call the 9.5-mile BRT corridor home. Members of our outreach team are on the BRT corridor daily to answer your questions and provide the latest updates.

Regular construction updates are also available on the BRT website in our Weekly Construction Updates section as well as on social media @rideactbrt.

Please note, field conditions and weather may impact schedules and construction zone locations. As we make progress on this $213 million investment in the community, AC Transit encourages businesses and residents alike to allow extra travel time.

BRT Crews will be making infrastructure upgrades and building BRT in the following areas:

Zone 14:

San Leandro — E. 14th Street from Durant Avenue to Davis Street and on Davis Street from E.14th Street to San Leandro Boulevard.

  • E. 14th between Haas and Toler – BRT Civic Center Station (Northbound)
  • E. 14th and Haas
  • E. 14th between Haas and Toler – BRT Civic Center Station (Southbound)
  • E. 14th and Euclid
  • E. 14th and Dan Niemi Way
  • Davis and Hayes
  • E. 14th at Georgia Way – BRT Georgia Way Station (Southbound) 
  • Davis Street between E.14th and Hayes – BRT Downtown Station (Northbound)
  • Davis Street between E.14th and Hayes – BRT Downtown Station (Southbound)
  • E. 14th and Farrelly
  • E. 14th and Broadmoor
  • Davis Street and Dan Niemi Way

Zone 13:

Oakland — International Boulevard between 94th and Durant Avenues

  • 103rd Avenue and International Boulevard
  • 103rd to 104th Avenues along the West Side of International Boulevard
  • 103rd to 104th Avenues along the East Side of International Boulevard
  • 98th Avenue and International Boulevard
  • 97th Avenue and International Boulevard
  • 96th Avenue and International Boulevard
  • Installation of new traffic signal poles throughout this zone

Zone 12:

Oakland —International Boulevard between 82nd and 94th

  • International Boulevard from 82nd to 85th Avenues – BRT Station, New Median, and street paving
  • International Boulevard from 85th to 90th Avenues – BRT Station, New Median , and street paving
  • International Boulevard from 90th to 94th Avenues – BRT Station, New Median , and street paving

Zone 11:

Oakland — International Boulevard between 71st and 82nd Avenues

  • 81st Avenue and International Boulevard – Installation of new traffic signal
  • Major Construction throughout this zone is expected to begin in February

Zone 10:

Oakland — International Boulevard between 62nd and 71st Avenues

  • International Boulevard from 71st to 73rd Avenues - BRT Station, New Median, and street paving
  • International Boulevard from Havenscourt Boulevard to 68th Avenue - BRT Station, New Median, and street paving
  • 67th Avenue and International Boulevard

Zone 8:

Oakland — International Boulevard between 41st and 52nd Avenues

  • International Boulevard from 44th to 46th Avenues – BRT Station, New Median, and street paving
  • International Boulevard from 46th to 52th Avenues – BRT Station, New Median, and street paving

Zone 7:

Oakland – International Boulevard between 41st and Fruitvale Avenues

  • Preconstruction utility verification activities start February 20th

Zones 3 and 4:

Oakland - International Boulevard and E. 12th Street between 14th and 2nd Avenues

  • Palm Tree Removals will take place February 20 through March 2.
