AC Transit closed more than the calendar year. The close of 2017 instead represented the busiest construction year for the unprecedented East Bay BRT project.

With over twenty percent of the total project complete, many communities along the 9.5-mile BRT corridor, are already experiencing the benefits of construction improvements which include: new ADA compliant sidewalks and ramps, new state-of-the-art traffic signals, and improved energy saving street lighting.

AC Transit is committed to a construction schedule that is timely, efficient and provides the most accurate information for those doing business or who call the 9.5-mile BRT corridor home. Below you will find the current locations for BRT construction. Please note, field conditions and weather may impact schedules and construction zone locations.

  

Zone 14: San Leandro - E. 14th St. between Durant and Davis and Davis St. between
E. 14th and San Leandro Blvd. 

January 2018

  • Davis Street between E.14th and Hayes – BRT Downtown Station (Northbound) and Roadway Improvements
  • E. 14th between Haas and Toler – BRT Civic Center Station (Northbound)
  • E. 14th and Haas – Curb Ramp Upgrades
  • E. 14th at Georgia Way – BRT Georgia Way Station (Southbound)
  • E. 14th and Durant – Electrical Work
  • E. 14th and Farrelly  – Sidewalk Improvements

Early February 2018  

  • E. 14th between Haas and Toler – BRT Civic Center Station (Southbound)
  • E. 14th between Haas and Toler – BRT Civic Center Station (Northbound)
  • E. 14th at Georgia Way – BRT Georgia Way Station (Southbound)
  • E. 14th and Euclid
  • E. 14th and Dan Niemi Way – Roadway Work

    Zone 13: Oakland — International Boulevard between 94th and Durant Avenues

    January 2018

    • 100th Avenue and International Boulevard
    • 102nd Avenue and International Boulevard
    • 103rd Avenue and International Boulevar
    • 98th Avenue and International Boulevard

    Early February 2018

    • 97th Avenue and International Boulevard
    • 102nd Avenue and International Boulevar
    • Bristol Boulevard and International Boulevard

    Zone 12: Oakland - International Blvd. between 82nd and 94th Avenues. 

     January/February 2018

    • International Boulevard from 85th to 90th Avenues – BRT Station and New Median
    • International Boulevard from 90th to 94th Avenues – BRT Station and New Median

    Zone 11: Oakland – International Blvd. between 41st and 52nd Avenues.   

    • 81st Avenue – Electrical Work for new traffic signal
    • Major Construction throughout this zone is expected to begin in February

    Zone 10: Oakland — International Boulevard between 62nd and 71st Avenues

    January 2018

    • International Boulevard from 71st to 73rd Avenues
    • International Boulevard from Havenscourt Boulevard to 68th Avenue

    Early February 2018

    • 67th Ave and International Boulevard

       

    Zone 8: Oakland – International Blvd. between 41st and 52nd Avenues.
