The Colorado District Office is recruiting for the Emerging Leaders Initiative Class of 2013

SBA’s Emerging Leaders Initiative is the only federal training initiative that specifically focuses on executives of established businesses, currently poised for growth, from communities across the country and provides them the organizational framework, resource network, and motivation required to build a sustainable business of size and scale.  SBA’s continued outreach in historically challenged areas has resulted in entrepreneurial success that generates new jobs, attracts investment, and provides a more sustainable economic base in distressed areas.

SBA to Expand Access to Loan Programs

SBA has proposed to revise OCA regulations for the 504 and 7(a) loan programs.  The goal of these regulation changes is to expand the accessibility of SBA loan programs, to streamline the loan application process and to ensure program integrity through effective, proper oversight.

The SBA proposed rule resulted from extensive consultations with lenders and borrowers to identify the greatest challenges they face and find ways to reduce those barriers and make loans more accessible while reducing waste, fraud and abuse.

Among the proposed changes are:

•           Eliminating the personal resource test

•           Revising the rule on affiliation

•           Eliminating the nine-month rule for the 504 loan program

•           Increasing accountability of the CDCs’ Board of Directors

•           Removing unnecessary CDC operational requirements,

•           Other provisions to refocus CDC operational and
             organizational requirements

This group is asking companies if they are moving, are persistent and rude. We have learned that this group is selling small business information to realtors, office supply companies etc.

Please be aware that if you receive any calls similar to the description above, they are not connected to the State of Colorado SBDC Network.

Thank you and please forward this message to help keep other small businesses up to date and on alert!
