SBA's Emerging Leaders Initiative is a free training initiative to accelerate growth of high potential small businesses across the country

The curriculum is specifically designed to stimulate and support the expansion of your business. Emerging Leaders delivers advanced training and provides strategies to help you access new avenues of capital. It offers practical tools to pursue new paths of business development and surrounds you with a network of government resources and business leaders prepared to invest time and energy in your business.

Graduates from 2009-2011 reported new access to over $26M in new financing (excluding lines of credit) since graduating the program and implementing their Strategic Growth Action Plans. They also reported creating 908 new full time positions; an average job creation rate of 1.9 positions per business. Nearly half of the participants secured federal, state, local and tribal contracts with a cumulative total of $330 million. On average businesses grew their revenues by 40%.

The eight-month course includes approximately 100 hours of classroom time per participant and provides the opportunity for you to work with experienced mentors, attend workshops and develop connections with their peers, city leaders and financial community.

The Emerging Leaders Initiative advanced training series is open to small business owners and executives that have annual revenues of at least $300,000, have been in business for at least 3 years and have at least one employee.
