Ontario Plastics Back in Growth Mode

Despite Recession, Manufacturing Owners Find Banker to Back their Vision


From design to distribution, Ontario Plastics, Inc. (OPI) has found a way to weather the economic recession.  With highly regarded products and services built over many years this Rochester-based company has entered a cycle of growth and offers more than 70 years of experience.

OPI was established in 1946 by Richard Hayes.  His two nephews Leo and Mike Hayes assumed

ownership in 1971.  Leo’s son-in-laws Gerard Reynolds and Ralph Barnes took out a significant financial package and assumed majority ownership of the company in 2007.  Later that year when the recession hit, Gerard and Ralph spent the next several years implementing a “get healthy” plan to balance the new debt with their reduced sales income. 

After working on their plan, Gerard and Ralph were able to position themselves and obtain an SBA Small Loan Advantage loan through Five Star bank.  Gerard credits the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for

New Economic Development Specialist Joins the SBA Buffalo District

Gregory Lindberg

SBA Buffalo is pleased to announce that Gregory Lindberg has joined the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Buffalo District Office as an Economic Development Specialist effective January 14, 2013. 

Greg is a graduate of the University at Buffalo with a Bachelor of Business degree in Finance

and a Master of Business (MBA) also from the University at Buffalo. 

Greg was formerly with The Creative Problem Solving Group, Inc. for 7 years.  He brings with over 7 years of experience in the Management Consulting & Training industry and has worked with over 50 Fortune 500 companies on projects ranging from Business Strategy, Leadership Development and New Product Development. 

In his spare time, Greg enjoys spending time with his family, golfing and enjoys a good laugh.
