Detroit, MI  48202Vanguard Community Development Corporation Presents the 2nd Annual Entrepreneur Week to be held February 11-14, 2013 in Detroit, MI. The Vanguard CDC Entrepreneur Week Conference is a collaborative effort between Vanguard Community Development Corporation, Wayne State University Law School Small Business & Patent Clinic, The Center for Empowerment and Economic Development (CEED), ProsperUS Detroit and SCORE – Detroit Chapter. Launched in 2011, the free event provides access to business development tools and resources for small business owners.  “Entrepreneur Week is a prime opportunity for us to collaborate with several organizations.  We look forward to leveraging our collective knowledge to help businesses reach their ability to lead the growth and creation of Detroit-based jobs” states Vanessa Rucker, Director, Small Business Detroit Microloan Program, a CEED program.  Highlights of the week include a keynote address, given by Gerald Moore, Michigan District Director, U.S. Small Business Administration, industry-specific presentations, expert roundtables and information tables. 
Daily sessions will include industry-specific topics including Technology-related Businesses and Consultant Panel, Social Entrepreneurship, Food/Retail, and Financial Resource Panel. A Business Network Reception, sponsored by ProsperUS Detroit, will give attendees opportunity to network with resource providers and hear pitches from other entrepreneurs. Regina Ann Campbell, Director, Director Milwaukee Junction Business Center shared a primary goal of Vanguard is to support, retain and attract entrepreneurs who value local hiring and social entrepreneurship. “We are excited about another opportunity to partner with the best business development professionals in Detroit and connect entrepreneurs & small business owners to important resources and trainings.”
