Hello and Happy New Year!

For the first quarter of FY 2013 (the federal fiscal year actually started on October 1) our loan volume remains strong despite economic uncertainties, and our NH lenders continue to find ways to meet the needs of many of our small businesses.

There’s quite a lot of activity going on within our network, and we are working to ensure our on-line calendar is a good source for everyone’s events.  You can find that calendar at the New Hampshire SBA web page (www.sba.gov/nh or http://www.sba.gov/about-offices-content/2/3130), and January highlights include:

Effective January 1st, New Hampshire has additional qualified HUBZones.  Now businesses located within HUBZone designated areas of Concord, Dover, Durham, Keene, Manchester, Nashua, Rochester and all of Coos County may be eligible for consideration as HUBZone firms.  HubZone certified firms may receive benefits when doing business with the government.  We will be working with local communities throughout the year to hold informational sessions for businesses in these areas. For additional information contact Hugh Curley at 603-225-1402 or hugh.curley@sba.gov  or visit www.sba.gov/hubzone

That’s just January so far – the NH SBDC, CWBA and all SCORE chapters maintain their own events calendars and we are aiming toward the SBA calendar having everything – please visit the calendar directly for new events as well as for details, registration links and links to the organizations hosting these events.

We are looking forward to a busy and exciting 2013 and are thankful for the unflagging support from our friends and partners, past and future.  Please do not hesitate to contact us on any SBA matter.

All the best in this New Year,
