The U.S. Small Business Administration has extended the deadline to receive nominations for Kentucky's 2013 Small Business Person of the Year and four Small Business Advocacy award categories. The advocacy awards are for Financial Services, Minority, Veteran and Women Business Advocacy categories. The revised deadline to submit a nomination to the Kentucky District Office is Thursday, January 10, 2013.
"We heard from small businesses and SBA resource partners who said that the busy holiday season made it difficult to meet the original nomination deadline,” said Kentucky District Director Ralph Ross. "There are many outstanding entrepreneurs and small business advocates across our state. This annual awards program is our way of recognizing that excellence, and we want to ensure that there is ample time to submit nominations for these awards."
The winner of the Kentucky Small Business Person of the Year winner will go on to compete at the national level. The national winner and competitors will be honored during Small Business Week in Washington, D.C. The 2013 award nomination guidelines can be found online at www.sba.gov/ky in the News and Press Releases section at the bottom of the page, titled 2013 Kentucky District Office Small Business & Advocacy Awards.
