Last Call for Small Business Week Award Nominations and Packet Submissions
Every year since 1963, the U.S. Small Business Administration has been recognizing outstanding small business owners and entrepreneurs for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the community during National Small Business Week. The Rhode Island District Office of the SBA will be honoring small business owners and entrepreneurs in the following categories this coming Spring:
Small Business Person of the Year
Jeffrey Butland Family Owned Small Business of the Year
SBA Young Entrepreneur of the Year
Entrepreneurial Success
Microenterprise of the Year
Small Business Exporter of the Year
Veteran Owned Small Business of the Year
Woman Owned Small Business of the Year
Minority Owned Small Business of the Year
Financial Services Champion of the Year
If you know a small business that is worth of recognition, there is still time to nominate them in one of the categories listed above. Please email all submissions to matthew.spoehr@sba.gov
If your small business has already been nominated, do not forget that all nominee packages must be submitted to the Rhode Island District Office no later than the close of business on Monday, December 31, 2012.

Disaster Recovery Centers for Hurricane Sandy Victims to Close as of 5:00pm on December 19th
The Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) located in Westerly at both the Westerly Chamber of Commerce and the Misquamicut Volunteer Fire Station will be shutting down effective December 19 at the close of business. Anyone affected by the storm wishing to receive assistance may contact:
