It’s your dedication that keeps our country strong, and we appreciate you - especially at this holiday season. We also give special thanks to your families and loved ones who support you in this very important work.

BIZ Tip: No Need to Say Bah-Humbug: Plan a Fun and Affordable Holiday Event.

Don’t feel much like celebrating? Not enough in the budget for a seasonal soiree? There are ways to host a fun holiday gathering for your employees without breaking the bank.

Time of Day. Host an event during the day rather than the evening. Breakfast, lunch and Monday or Tuesday are less expensive.

Venue Selection. In the office or in your home instead of at an off-site facility. Make it festive.

Bring a Dish. A Potluck party can be fun and inexpensive. Ask your employees to bring a favorite dish and copies of their recipe.

No Plus One. Employees-only.

Barter. Bartering is always popular with small businesses, so why not barter for your holiday event?

Give Back. Conduct a food or clothing drive with your staff and arrange to deliver everything to the designated charity together. Turn it into a fun, festive time that everyone feels good about.

Post-Holiday Event. Consider waiting until January. You won’t be competing with all the other holiday activities.

Videos! Successful businesses tell their stories.

Everyone likes a good story – especially when it’s told by a small business owner who’s built a successful business and is excited to tell about it … on video!

It’s a brand new SBA website called Business Owners Speak. You'll find it at Take a look and a listen to these videos by real entrepreneurs telling real stories! It’s encouraging. Enjoy!  > View videos
