Portland District Office loan dollars set record in fiscal year 2012
The Portland District Office set a new record in supporting loan approval dollars of $428.7 million during fiscal year 2012, up from $390 million in 2011.
“In the Portland District, this was the SBA’s largest loan volume year ever in dollar terms,” said Acting District Director Robert DuCotè. “Aligning with the national trend, the Portland District loan totals for FY 2012 benefited substantially from an increase in 504 loans, particularly refinancings.”

SBA and Microsoft will team up for a Tweetup at Migration Brewing Company to discuss small business innovation opportunities on Nov. 13, 6-7:30 p.m. A Tweetup is an event where people who tweet come together to meet in person, allowing them to share more than just 140 characters at a time. The event is open to the general public, including non-tweeters interested in learning more about business resources.
Sean Greene, who heads up SBA’s startup division in Washington, DC, will provide remarks as well as Dr. Mark Drapeau, the director of innovative engagement at Microsoft.
The Tweetup will provide entrepreneurs insights and updates into the $2.5 billion in annual federal funding for small business research, innovation, and technology transfer.
The Associate Administrator will be in Portland to deliver the keynote address at the upcoming National Small Business Investment Research (SBIR) Conference, Nov. 13-15.
