SBA Loan Dollars in FY 2012 Reach Second Largest Total Ever
The SBA's loan programs posted the second largest dollar volume ever in FY 2012, supporting $30.25 billion in loans to small businesses. That amount was surpassed only by FY 2011, which was heavily boosted by the loan incentives under the Small Business Jobs Act of 2010.
Results for the Houston District posted a similar trend to the national totals supporting $678.10 million in loans to small businesses in the Houston district. This amount represents 995 loans totaling $417.35 million under the 7(a) program and 121 loans supporting $260.75 million under the 504 program.
“The Houston District posted similar results to the national loan volume and continues to sign on new lenders each year. These results have shown a healthy sign of confidence in the local Houston economy and credit market,” said Houston District Director Manuel Gonzalez.
