New SBA Tool Helps Small Biz SizeUp the Competition
Small business owners and start-ups in South Florida now have a new business tool to help them compete and grow. The free tool, called SizeUp, helps businesses identify new customers and compare their performance against other businesses in their industry with data collected from hundreds of private and public sources. The tool can be found at
www.sba.gov/sizeup.
"This exciting and useful new tool is the latest of SBA's many efforts to ensure the nation's small businesses rebound from the recession and thrive in our new economy," said Francisco "Pancho" A. Marrero, SBA South Florida District Director. "I encourage entrepreneurs to use SizeUp to become more competitive, grow, and strengthen our economy."
National Encore Entrepreneur Mentor Day
SBA is teaming up with AARP to host the first National Encore Entrepreneur Mentor Day on Oct. 2nd. The event aims to match entrepreneurs over the age of 50 -- “encore entrepreneurs”-- with successful business owners and community leaders for advice and assistance. National Encore Entrepreneur Mentor Day is part of a larger effort by SBA and AARP to promote business ownership among individuals ages 50 and older. In South Florida, events will be hosted by the
SBA District Office and two SCORE Chapters in
Miami-Dade and
Broward Counties.
