What Women Want to Know

Highlights from womenshealth.gov

A 25-year-old woman wrote to us because she recently learned she is HIV positive. She felt very hopeless. She said she was going crazy because her ex-husband was HIV negative. She hoped that their relationship would get better, but she feared it never would since she is HIV positive and he is HIV negative. We let her know that many women struggle with feelings like she described. We also told her that if she was thinking about hurting or killing herself, she must call 911. She could also call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-8255 or the National Hopeline Network at 800-784-2433 for free, at any time, to talk to someone. Also, the following websites have important information about HIV/AIDS.
