January 2013 MEP Update Meeting

On January 29 – 30, 2013 NIST MEP will host the January Update Meeting in St. Louis, Missouri. This will meeting will be held at the St Louis Union Station – a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel.

The meeting will begin at 1:00 pm on Tuesday the 29th and end by 2:30 pm on Wednesday the 30th. Some of the planned topics include:

  • 2012 Year in Review
  • Strategy and objectives for 2013
  • MEP program and policy changes
  • CEO engagement and market penetration
  • Building an innovation practice

  • Baldrige Executive Fellows Program

    Learn Directly from Award Winning Senior Leaders

    The Baldrige Performance Excellence Program is accepting applications for its 2013 Executive Fellows Program. The year-long program features quarterly visits to Baldrige award recipient facilities (such as Ritz-Carlton and Cargill ), virtual sessions, an opportunity to interact with Baldrige award recipients, including small and large manufacturing recipients.

    Aspiring executives learn directly from each other as well from senior executives of Baldrige Award winning organizations, including small manufacturers such as Mesa Products, Stoner, and PRO-TEC Coating Company who have used the Baldrige model to increase sales, reduce costs, and improve employee and customer satisfaction. Participants learn the practices that led the Baldrige winners to their breakthrough performance and apply the learnings to their own organizations via a capstone project. Limited program size of 12-15 executives facilitates networking and peer learning. Past participants include executives from Sara Lee, UPS, and Dow Chemical.     Enterprise Minnesota was cited in two recent articles. The first article covers a Chamber of Commerce Awards Celebration at which center director, Bob Kill, was a speaker. The second story involves the relocation of Taylor- Wharton's headquarts to Minnesota with an expected 40 jobs; Bob Kill is quoted about positive impacts it could signal.
