The Education Drives America Tour Begins

Nearly 400 Attend a Single Green Strides Webinar Series Session! 

 

This Wednesday, over 370 people tuned in to learn more about effective asthma management with good indoor air quality in schools. Sign up for next Wednesday’s webinar on outdoor air quality. Learn how EPA's School Flag Program helps schools protect the health of students by using brightly colored flags that signal the local air quality each day.  Find over 40 webinars scheduled on Wednesdays through summer 2013 on our new and improved Green Strides Webinar Series page.

 

The First Annual Green Apple Day of Service is Sept. 29 

On Sept. 29th, advocates in over 60 countries, including students, teachers, parents, elected officials, organizations and companies, will come together in support of healthy, sustainable schools by taking action in their communities. The Green Apple Day of Service website contains sample project ideas, including an ED-GRS project idea card.   

39 States have Indicated their Intent to Nominate Schools for ED-GRS 2013 

39 state authorities have indicated that they intend to nominate schools to ED.  State education agencies are encouraged indicate their intent to nominate schools in an email to green.ribbon.schools@ed.gov by September 30th.  Schools cannot apply directly to ED and must be nominated by their state education agency. State participation is voluntary and may depend on hearing from interested schools.
