Job Summary:
The incumbent serves as a Technical Writer-Editor in the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Office of Publication and Special Studies, Division of Publishing Services, Monthly Labor Review Branch. In this position, the incumbent edits articles and publications concerning facts, analysis, and research in the field of economics and the related areas of economic statistics, specifically, employment, inflation, wages, compensation, productivity, staffing patterns in various occupational and industrial settings, survey methodologies, and numerous other aspects of the American and international economic and social conditions. BLS is the principal fact-finding agency for the Federal Government in the broad field of labor economics and statistics. The BLS is an independent national statistical agency that collects, processes, analyzes, and disseminates essential statistical data to the American public, the U.S. Congress, other Federal agencies, State and local governments, business and labor.
