Job Summary:
This is an appointment under the Department of Labor's (DOL) Recent Graduates program. The program duration is one year. Upon successful completion of the program and at the agency's discretion, the appointee may be converted to a term or permanent position in the competitive service. Appointee must sign a DOL Pathways Program Participant Agreement. The entire duration of the appointment constitutes a trial period. Appointee must be a U.S. citizen in order to be eligible for conversion to a permanent position in the competitive service upon completion of the program. The incumbent serves as an Information Technology Specialist in the Bureau of Labor Statistics' Office of Technology and Survey Processing. Its mission is to collect, analyze, and disseminate essential economic information to support public and private decision-making. As an independent statistical agency, BLS serves its diverse user communities by providing products and services that are objective, timely, accurate, and relevant. This position is located in the District Offices of Federal Contract Compliance Programs ( OFCCP ) located in New York City, NY. OFCCP was born out of historic civil rights legislation including President Lyndon Johnson's Executive Order 11246. Over the past 45 years, our authority was expanded by the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Vietnam Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974.
