Job Summary:
This position is located in the Division of Class Exemptions, Office of Exemption Determinations, which is a major component of the Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA). EBSA is responsible for administering and securing compliance with the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) and similar provisions of the Federal Employees Retirement System Act (FERSA). The Division of Class Exemptions is responsible for planning and administering a program for: the development, promulgation, and coordination of class exemptions and related matters necessary to carry out the Department's responsibilities under ERISA, FERSA and specific sections of the Internal Revenue Code. Job Summary:
This position is located in the San Francisco Regional Office. The incumbent serves as a Supervisory Economist in the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Office of Field Operations (OFO), Division of Price Programs. The duty station is in San Francisco, CA. The Mission of the OFO is to provide collection expertise and feedback to the development of Bureau survey programs, to effectively and efficiently execute survey activities both directly and through grantees, and to conduct an active program of information and outreach for Bureau products. BLS is the principal fact-finding agency for the Federal Government in the broad field of labor economics and statistics. The BLS is an independent national statistical agency that collects, processes, analyzes, and disseminates essential statistical data to the American public, the U.S. Congress, other Federal agencies, State and local governments, business and labor. The BLS also serves as a statistical resource to the DOL. This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled as either a Supervisory Economist or a Supervisory Statistician (Economics).
