Special Report: Asian-American Pacific Islander MonthAmerican Forces Press Service WASHINGTON, May 1, 2013 - In proclaiming May as Asian-American Pacific Islander Month, President Barack Obama acknowledged the contributions of Japanese Americans who fought for the United States during World War II and called on Americans to learn more about the history of Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders.
