U.S. Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta boards an airplane on Joint Base Andrews, Md., Oct. 5, 2012, to begin a weeklong trip to Peru, Uruguay and Belgium. During the trip, Panetta will have the chance to strengthen partnerships with Western Hemisphere counterparts and participate in a meeting of NATO defense ministers.
