U.S. Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta and Chinese Defense Minister Gen. Liang Guanglie meet in Beijing, Sept. 18, 2012. Panetta visited Tokyo before Beijing, and will travel to Auckland, New Zealand, during a weeklong trip to the Asia-Pacific region.
