Navy Chief Petty Officer Benjamin Bates climbs the main mast during USS Constitution's Chief Petty Officer Heritage Week in Charlestown, Mass., Aug. 21, 2012. During the week, the sailor selectees will live and train aboard Constitution, the world's oldest commissioned warship afloat. Bates is assigned to the guided-missile cruiser USS Vella Gulf.
