Army Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, receives a "tar bucket" from Richard W. Schneider, Norwich University president, during the university's graduation in Northfield, Vt., May 13, 2012. Norwich is the nation's first private military university and the birthplace of Army ROTC. Dempsey gave the university's commencement address.
