March 15, 2013 — ICE removes Jordanian criminal alien convicted on weapons, sex assault charges

A Jordanian citizen, with more than a dozen criminal convictions in Illinois ranging from felony sexual assault to unlawfully carrying a weapon, was removed from the United States to Jordan by officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO). March 19, 2013 — Maryland attorney indicted in real estate investment fraud scheme with more than $747,000 in losses

A Maryland attorney was arrested by special agents with ICE's Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the FBI. Aaron G. Seltzer, 36, of Trappe, Md., was indicted by a federal grand jury March 14 on nine counts of wire fraud in connection with a scheme in which he converted funds intended for real estate investments to his personal use. March 19, 2013 — 37 charged in a nationwide marijuana and cigarette distribution scheme

Members of a nationwide Chinese marijuana and contraband cigarette trafficking organization were arrested and charged following an investigation by HSI. The organization allegedly conspired to manufacture and distribute more than $45 million worth of marijuana, and to illegally distribute nearly 44 million cigarettes, which resulted in more than $7 million in lost tax revenue. HSI, working jointly with the Puerto Rico Police Department and other members of the Caribbean Corridor Strike Force, arrested three individuals and seized 1,300 kilograms of cocaine with an estimated street value of $30 million Wednesday off the southern coast of Puerto Rico. Full Story
