This is a Cadre of Response Employee (CORE) position. You will serve in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Mission Support Bureau, Office of the Chief Information Officer. In this position you are responsible and providing day-to-day the Information Technology support for the Office of the Chief Information Officer. This position is being announced under FEMA's CORE Program (Cadre of on-call Response/Recovery employees). These positions are authorized under P.L. 93-288 to perform temporary disaster work and are funded from the Disaster Relief Fund. Appointments are excepted service, temporary appointments. This is a 2 year temporary appointment in the Excepted Service. The person selected for this position will provide senior technical authority in information technology; formulating and developing implementing strategies, standards, and guidelines for FEMA programs and functions. This position starts at a salary of $74,872 (GS-12) and ends at $97,333 (GS-12). EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: FEMA employees are subject to 24 hour on-call in the event of any emergency. This service may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description.
