IPSLEI Public Safety Scholarship Application Deadline 11/15/12

The International Public Safety Leadership and Ethics Institute has partnered with Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society to establish an endowment for the Richard L. Resurreccion Public Safety Scholarship. The purpose of the endowment is to provide scholarships to Phi Theta Kappa members who demonstrate potential for or involvement in public safety or service while enrolled in a regionally accredited associate degree public safety program.

This scholarship honors Richard L. Resurreccion who is widely known for his expertise in the areas of life safety, technology and emergency management. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Public Safety Leadership and Ethics Institute (IPSLEI). Professor Resurreccion has been honored by a number of cities, public safety agencies and civic organizations for his work in emergency services training. He has been particularly involved in training and development programs for fire, police and emergency medical services personnel. Professor Emeritus of the College of Health and Human Services at California State University, Long Beach, Dr. Resurreccion has more than four decades of experience in varied teaching at the secondary, junior and two-year college, military and university levels.

Initial applications will be accepted through November 15, 2012 with future applications accepted annually each spring. The goal is to award up to two $1,000 scholarships annually. The selection of those meeting the applicable eligibility criteria for scholarships shall be made by the International Public Safety Leadership and Ethics Institute.
