WHAT’S HOT IN E-VERIFY

What Version of Form I-9 Must You Use?
As of May 7, 2013, all employers must use the latest version of the Form I-9 for all new hires. On March 8, USCIS released the new version of the Employment Eligibility Verification form on I-9 Central. To be sure you are using the correct version, check that the revision date on the lower left reads 03/08/13 N. See the latest I-9 blog for useful tips.

What Employers Should Know about Form I-94 Automation

On April 30, 2013, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) began automating the Form I-94 Arrival/Departure record at air and seports. Employees who choose to enter their I-94 Admission Number on the Form I-9 should also enter their foreign passport number and country of issuance. Visit I-9 Central for more information.

A Review of 2012

2012 came to a close but there is much to celebrate. E-Verify reached new heights with the development of Self Check and the expansion of Records and Information from DMVs for E-Verify (RIDE) which is now available in two states. Also, USCIS created the Employer Search Tool, E-Verify Listens, and added numerous Foreign Language Resources. See the Blog post for the 2012 recap.
