USCIS Office of Public Engagement: Stakeholder Engagement and Stand Alone I-130 Filing Locations

Dear Stakeholders,

USCIS would like to share two announcements with you:

1. Stakeholder Invitation

The USCIS Service Center Operations Directorate invites interested stakeholders to participate in the next Stakeholder Teleconference scheduled for Wednesday, February 1, 2012 from 2:00pm to 3:30pm Eastern Time. These engagements present an opportunity for stakeholders to receive current information from service center officials on particular topics of interest. The topic for the February 2012 teleconference will be “Consular Notification Process on Immigrant and Non-immigrant Approvals as Related to Visa Issuance.” For More Detailed information on this engagement, please see the attached invitation.

2. USCIS Announces Changes to Stand-Alone I-130 Filing Locations

On January 1, 2012, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) changed the filing locations for Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative.  Domestic petitioners will now mail their stand-alone I-130 applications to either the Chicago Lockbox or the Phoenix Lockbox, depending on their residence in the United States. Please note that if a petitioner submits his or her Form I-130 package to the incorrect Lockbox location, USCIS will forward the package to the correct Lockbox”.  This effort will balance workloads between the two locations and provide more efficient and effective processing of Form I-130. For More Information, please click on this link.

Kind Regards,
