ACTUALITY – Mike Taylor, Deputy Commissioner for Foods, U.S. Food & Drug Administration

INFO: Mike Taylor, Deputy Commissioner for Foods, U.S. Food & Drug Administration says U.S. milk is safe.

Mike Taylor, Deputy Commissioner for Foods, U.S. Food & Drug Administration:

There’s nothing about this recent finding, or event, that really changes the picture. It’s a very rare event that any cow is infected and we know that the locus, the point of infection is the central nervous system. It’s not the mammary gland, it’s not the milk. Scientists have looked at this, the World Health Organization has looked at this, and we’re confident that consumers needn’t be concerned about the safety of milk.
