The Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) is excited to announce the First Annual Oklahoma Family Engagement Night “getting involvED” on Thursday, February 21, 2013.
This event can be held in all Oklahoma schools that want to engage families and community members in supporting their students.
The office of Parent and Community Engagement has built a resource webpage for schools to:
- Register to host a Family Engagement Night;
- Have access to templates for posters and flyers to announce the event;
- Have ideas of topics and themes to engage family and community members;
- Request information on a specific topic or topics that are not on the resource page.

Oklahoma State Regent for Higher Education Survey
To all Oklahoma eighth-12th grade teachers:
As an Oklahoma middle or high school teacher, your feedback is needed regarding outreach efforts by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE).
Please take 15 to 20 minutes to participate in an important online survey to share your thoughts on communications and outreach initiatives from the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education that are designed to educate eighth-12th grade students and their parents about the importance, preparation and process for attending an Oklahoma public college or university.
Of specific interest is your feedback on the effectiveness of the Regent’s mailings, packets and publications, presentations, and social media. The primary focus is on GEAR UP, Oklahoma’s Promise, www.okcollegestart.org, Educational Planning and Assistance System program (OK EPAS) and the Oklahoma College Assistance Program (OCAP).
