Doak Urges President to End PPACA

OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John Doak urged President Obama today to repeal his highly unpopular federal takeover of health insurance. Doak said, “Hopefully, the President heard the voices of Oklahomans today and realize that his health insurance mandate is a mistake.”

“Oklahomans voted overwhelmingly against the president’s plan in 2010. If President Obama came to Oklahoma to listen he will certainly hear how angry Oklahomans are that he is intruding into their personal lives and businesses,” Doak said.

“It is clearly an overreach of federal power and it will exacerbate the health insurance problems in America, not alleviate them. The president should do the right thing and ask Congress to repeal PPACA.” Doak said.

Insurance Commissioner Doak continues to fight against the federal takeover of Oklahoma’s insurance markets. “We have shown time and again that states can solve these problems with free market solutions.   We do not need the federal government telling us how to run Oklahoma,” Doak said.
