"Those who for
their country died shall fill an honored grave, for glory lights the soldier's
tomb, and beauty weeps the brave"
-- Joseph Drake
On Monday we will observe Memorial Day, a national holiday
that honors the memory of those who died while serving in the country's armed forces.
The flag of the United States will be raised to the top of the staff, and then
solemnly lowered to half-staff, where it will remain until noon. It is
then raised to full-staff for the remainder of the day.
I hope all of you have a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend
with family and friends. As I do every year, I also encourage you to take a
moment to reflect on and appreciate the solemn debt we owe those who made the
ultimate sacrifice for their country.
Let this holiday be a reminder of the fact that our safety and freedom
is paid for by the sacrifice of those that came before us, and died to protect our
country.

Yesterday, Central Office and DDD staff participated in the
annual OOD Fitness Walk as part of May wellness events focused on physical
activity and its positive health benefits.
Staff from both the 150 and 400 buildings walked the one mile loop
between the buildings. Unlike last year,
this year, the weather cooperated and it was cool and dry. Thanks to everyone who participated.
