Update
Interstate 75/I-74 Major Reconstruction Project Update Traffic Shift Scheduled
Hamilton County (Wednesday, Oct.10, 2018) - The first stage of construction on the I-75/I-74 Major Reconstruction Project includes pavement resurfacing, bridge deck patching, and drainage improvements on west I-74 from I-75 to Beekman Street.
Two lanes of I-74 traffic and all ramps will be maintained throughout. Lanes will be narrowed and shifted through the work zone. Overnight single lane closures should also be expected.
In order to prepare for the first traffic shift on west I-74, the following restrictions will be in place:
Friday, Oct. 5 and Monday, Oct. 8 through Thursday, Oct. 11 - Close the left lanes of east and west I-74 between Spring Grove Avenue and just north of southbound Beekman Street nightly from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10 - No work due to weather.
Postponed until next week
Friday, Oct. 12 - Close the left lane of west I-74 from Spring Grove Avenue to just north of southbound Beekman Street from 9 p.m. until approximately midnight. Close the right lane in this area from 12:01 a.m. until 6 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13.
In addition, close the left lane of east I-74 in this area from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. Saturday.
Once complete, two lanes of west I-74 traffic will be shifted to the inside (median) lanes with work taking place in the outside lane. Traffic will remain in this pattern for approximately three weeks.
Arrow boards and/or
signs will alert motorists of the work zone and restrictions. All work is
contingent upon the weather.
To help ensure the
safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists
should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while
passing through the work zone. Remember, move over or slow down.
