School Closure

City of Las Vegas sent this bulletin at 03/15/2020 04:48 PM PDT

On Sunday afternoon Governor Sisolak announced the closer of schools in Nevada starting Monday, March 16.

This will have an impact on our city employees who are now faced with childcare issues. As a result, the CMO is allowing those employees impacted directly by the school closer to stay home for the next two business days. Those who are able to work from home should do so. Those unable to work from home need to communicate right away with their supervisors so we have an idea of our employees’ childcare needs. Those unable to work from home will not lose sick or vacation time over the next two business days. During this time, the CMO will evaluate options for employees with young children who cannot telecommute from home.

Please help get this important message to all your coworkers. It’s vitality important that those employees with childcare issues as a result of the school closer communicate their situation to their respective supervisors.
