Yahoo! Finance Places Raleigh Sixth On Its 'Hottest American Cities of the Future' Listing
Raleigh will be “an amazing place to get a job.” Yahoo! Finance states in its determination of the "Hottest American Cities of the Future."
In compiling the list, Yahoo! Finance weighed job growth, population growth, demographics, affordability, livability and health, and the well being of its residents. Also considered were how the city is innovating in terms of technology, sustainability, culture and of course the totally subjective feature; how "cool" the city is.
Raleigh claimed the sixth spot on the list. Yahoo! Finance wrote: "This charming city attracts college students, families and immigrants with its job prospects, safety, affordable housing and short commutes…It’s also the fastest growing city in the U.S., according to the U.S. Census Bureau."
Taking the top spot on the "Hottest American Cities of the Future" is Brooklyn, N.Y., which the study predicted “will become a cool capital of culture.”
The second spot went to Seattle, which it predicted “will be the best place to be a young professional.”
Austin, Texas, came in third because of the “ton of new jobs” Yahoo! Finance foresees in its future. Portland, Ore., “will become one of the coolest cities for young people,” hence took fourth place. Placing fifth was Boulder, Colo., which the listing predicted “will become the newest hotbed for startups.”
