Happy New Year from New Hanover County Parks & Gardens

2016 was a great year to be a resident of New Hanover County!  Parks & Gardens was busy all year making new additions and upgrades to our parks facilities in order to better serve you.  Some of this year's highlights include:

--Dedication of the expanded Northern Regional Park in May

--Return of Ribbit the Exhibit to Airlie Gardens

--Completion of the new Inclusive Playground & Splashpad at Hugh MacRae Park

--New walking trail & exercise station at Ogden Park

--Opening of the new Library Storypark in October

--Two new full-size basketball courts at Hugh MacRae & Northern Regional Parks

--New Gaga Ball pit at Arrowhead Park

--Completion of our Parks & Gardens 10-Year Master Plan Update

 We look forward to an even bigger, better 2017.  Have a safe and Happy New Year!

Ogden Skatepark The new Ogden Skatepark project is nearing completion!  We expect construction to be completed in late January.  We will announce the opening date on our website and facebook page.  In the meantime, check out this cool Aerial Preview video created by our friends at Hendy Street Produxions!  Also, keep up with skatepark progress, events & info on the Ogden Skatepark facebook page.

Volunteer Opportunity-  Park Beautification at Hugh MacRae Park  10am-12pm

Every Thursday:
Volunteer Opportunity- Grounds/Gardening at Airlie Gardens  9am-12pm

1/8         NHC Residents FREE Day at Airlie Gardens:  9am-5pm (last admission is 4:30pm)

1/11        Bird Hike at Airlie Gardens:  8-9:30am (free with garden admission)

*Airlie Gardens is currently operating on its Winter Schedule through March 13th:  Open Tuesday-Sunday 9am-5pm (Closed Mondays).  Check the online calendar for the Winter Tram Schedule or call 798-7700.
