A specially trained and skilled presenter from the Organization for Bat Conservation's Education Department will provide an entertaining and informative program all about BATS, just in time for Halloween! Discover the truth about bats and how they live, in this exciting multi-media program. Learn how bats use sound waves (echolocation) to navigate in the dark, their role in the food web and conservation and ecosystems.
Live bats include an insect-eating bat from North America, a leaf-nosed bat from South America and a large flying fox bat from Africa!

Featured Class of the Week: Mommy & Me Hike
10/6 from 10:30-11:30 am at The Recreation Activities Center, all ages welcome
We invite you and your child to join our naturalist on a nature discovery and exercise walk. After the walk you may explore our outdoor natural play area and "BYOL" (bring your own lunch) to enjoy with other moms. The trail is unpaved so all-terrain strollers are recommended. A baby backpack/carrier is suggested for infants.
This is a FREE program, but pre-registration is required. |

Parent & Kid Excursion: Cookin' at Crispellis

10/17 from 10-11 am at Crispelli's (6690 Orchard Lake Rd.)
First event of a three month series! Registration is separate for each event.
Crispelli's is offering a comfortable and casual atmosphere for you to cook your own customized personal pizza with help from their great chefs. Also, you and your "mini me" will learn how to bake a different type of dessert each month. This is a great time to bond and hang out afterward to enjoy your creations. Registration deadline is October 9th. Cost covers one parent's and one child's registration. You may also add an additional child for a fee.
