New standard license plates now carry the logo of Pure Michigan, one of the top tourism campaigns of all time, making residents who travel personal ambassadors of the state’s signature brand, Gov. Rick Snyder and Secretary of State Ruth Johnson announced on April 8.
The plates also advertise the state's tourism website at www.Michigan.org and feature a blue wave along the bottom, representing the Great Lakes for which the state is well known. A Mackinac Bridge plate with the Pure Michigan logo is expected to become available this summer.
The Secretary of State's Office and the Michigan Economic Development Corp. are celebrating the new plates with a contest that will award one winner a commemorative Pure Michigan license plate and a gift basket of Pure Michigan items. Enter through April 22.
