Reform Alert # 47- System Changes on February 1, 2013

Implementation of P.A. 300 will begin February 1, 2013. New MPSERS benefit plans and associated system changes will be updated the weekend of February 16, 2013.

Until then, all current and newly loaded reports with an end date of on or after February 1, 2013, will be updated to a saved status. A saved status will remove the report from the Employer Reporting Website and you will not be able to view or edit the unposted report until after the weekend of February 16, 2013.

What this means.

  • You will continue to submit your reports under the normal reporting frequency according to your payroll calendar.
  • Standard reporting and payment due dates still apply.
  • ORS will notify you when your saved reports will be available for you to continue the reporting process.
  • Continue to use the Member Election Choice File link to determine the correct benefit plan and contribution rates. The View Member Benefit Plan link will be updated after the weekend of February 16, 2013.
  • The transition date for reporting new benefit plans remains the same. It is the first pay period that is reported with a start date on or after February 1, 2013.
  • For more information about the new employer and member contribution rates see Reform Alert 45 – Two Important Reporting Effective Dates.

A chart of the Member Benefit Plan Rates can be found at www.michigan.gov/psru > 2012 Retirement Reform > Reporting Updates.
