Baltimore Police Urge Caution When Buying or Selling
Items on Craigslist
June 18, 2012 / Baltimore, MD - The Baltimore Police Department is warning the public to be cautious when buying or selling items on Craigslist or any other online outlet.
On June 16th, the Baltimore Police Department was called to investigate an assault and robbery in the 300 block of Laurens Street. A 20 year-old man answered an ad on Craigslist to purchase a car. The victim agreed to meet the seller at the intersection of Eutaw and Laurens Street. When the victim and two of his relatives showed up to purchase the car, they were robbed and assaulted.
While Detectives are continuing to investigate this case, the Baltimore Police Department wants to remind the public of some safety tips when arranging to meet for online purchases:
