Partner spotlight: Fifth Third Bank

This month, Bank On Louisville is highlighting our partner, Fifth Third Bank, for their continued efforts to improve financial well-being and overall quality of life in our community.

The Federal Reserve Bank issued Fifth Third Bank an overall Outstanding Rating during the 2009-2011 CRA Exam period for the Louisville, Kentucky Metropolitan Statistical Area. Louisville was the only market in Fifth Third Bank’s 12-state footprint to receive this rating.

This included an Outstanding Rating for all three exam tests: Service, Lending and Investment. The examiners noted several factors which contributed to the Outstanding rating. The regulators highlighted Fifth Third’s loss mitigation efforts noting the bank had completed 87 loan modifications which represented 21.5% of all loan modifications in the area.

The examiners also noted Fifth Third Bank’s strong community development lending activities which included the origination of $49.8 million in loans to support community development activity including economic development and affordable housing development loans.

Fifth Third was mentioned as a leader in investing in the Louisville area. During the assessment period the bank made $19.9 million in community development qualified investments including investments to support Neighborhood Stabilization Programs.

Finally, the examiners cited the 819 hours of community development volunteer service completed by Fifth Third associates making the bank leaders in these activities.'

Thank you, Fifth Third Bank, for your community involvement and your partnership with Bank On Louisville!
